Local Priorities

Police Priority
Tackling shop theft in key retail areas around Bloxwich High Street

Issued: 26 Mar 2026

Status Update

Update April 2026
High visibility patrols by the neighbourhood at local retail premises have had a positive impact on community safety. These proactive patrols have increased police presence and visibility in key shopping areas, acting as a deterrent to criminal activity. As a result, there has been a noticeable reduction in incidents in regards to shoplifting.

Update March 2026
The team have carried out regular targeted foot and mobile patrols in our hotspot areas. This has included the
Co-operative stores on Turnberry Road & Lichfield Road, One Stop on Cresswell Crescent and the shops on the High Street. These patrols have resulted in a number of individuals arrested & charged for shop thefts in the area. This has resulted in an overall reduction in shop thefts. We have also been successful in securing Criminal Behaviour Orders for our prolific offenders, this puts conditions on them not to enter particular stores in the Bloxwich area.

Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour on the High Street and other key areas such as parks and green spaces.

Issued: 26 Mar 2026

Status Update

April 2026 Update
We are prioritising to deter anti social behaviour on the Bloxwich high street, particularly incidents involving groups of youths causing disruptions and riding bicycles in a dangerous or intimidating manner. This behaviour affects the safety and comfort of local residents, businesses, and visitors. We will increase visibility through patrols, engage with local youth services such as the recent one who opened in Market Place where we will be attending and work with community partners to promote responsible behaviour.

March 2026 Update
The team continue to tackle ASB on the High Street and in surrounding areas such as King George's Playing Fields and the green space at the back of the Co-operative on Turnberry and have carried out several patrols in these areas. We have been visible in the area allowing us to engage with members of the public enabling us to provide reassurance that we are aware of local concerns and proactively working with partners to resolve issues.
